Casidy

Casidy is the second child in our family. She is now nine years old. In this picture she is almost six and we are at Red Fish Lake in Idaho. Casidy is such a fun and happy child. I love her sweet personality and mello temperment. (I really need that in our family). Casidy is always happy and has a sweet little laugh. She has been a delight in our family.

She is at the lake trying to catch little fish. This is a pretty hard task but year after year she tries her best.

He likes to do his own thing

Just a few more stories I have been meaning to write down.
1. Fall of 2010 our girls had just gone back to school. I was afraid that Chase would be bored having them gone all day long. I was so happy and impressed with how willing he had all the sudden become to help around the house. For a week every morning he volunteered to feed our dog. I had a proud mother moment, I thought wow he is finally growing up. Middle of the week I started to notice that our dog was not eating very much. By the end of the week each time she ate she would throw up. I could not figure out what was going on until one evening I decided I better check her dog bowl. It was at that point I realized as Chase fed the dog each day he put a cup of dog food in her bowl along with a scoop of laundry detergent. Poor dog how she has ever survived this boy I will never know.

2. During the summer (2010) we had decided as a family to go to David's grave to visit. The boys had been running around the graves playing tag. I noticed the boys in a distance hanging out at a particular headstone. I decided I better check on them. When I walked over to them, I discovered someone had left a birthday cake for their deceased loved one. Of course this is to tempting for little boys, and Chase was sitting on the headstone eating away at the cake. Yuck.

3. Last week (Jan 2011) Chase decided that it wasn't fair that just his sisters have a straightening iron. I was folding laundry and heard the girls screaming. Chase had decided to find an old straightner, take it to his room and plug it in, and proceeded to straighten his bear hair.

How our house has not fallen, or burned down I will never know.

Boys will be boys

Chase has always been a pretty active boy. I have felt like we named him appropriately, I am always chasing him. I always thought I would remember the silly things he has done but am finding I easily forget. I want to share a few stories over the past few years.

1. When Chase was fifteen months old he loved to play in our lazy susan. He would get a measuring cup out and scoop the sugar all over the floor. When I would come in the kitchen and get after him he would quickly lay down in his pile of sugar and start spreading it out as fast as he could before I got to him.

2. Chase at an early age was fascinated with toilets. He didnt necessarily like to always go in them but loved the idea of what he could shove down them. He has sent several golf balls down the toilet, luckily none of them got stuck. This past summer he was trying to bug his cousin and threw her clothes in the toilet and tried to flush. Joy.

3. Last summer Chase found a baby bird in our back yard. It had fallen out of the tree on the golf course and was laying in the grass. Chase was pretty interested in his new find. Before we knew it the girls came running in screaming Chase had killed the bird. I thought perhaps he accidentally stepped on it but instead told us how it tried to move so he stomped and stomped and stomped. We discussed in great detail how he needed to make good choices and not to hurt animals.

4. The next day Chase was playing in his best friends backyard. Gunner and Chase had to go to the bathroom but didnt want to take the time to go inside. Chase pulled down his pants in pooped in the Melaney's backyard. When Marnie came out to help him, she said Chase did you poop in my yard. With poop smeared on his bum and his shorts to his ankles he told her no he did not. She explained how he needed to make good choices and he yelled I know, I know, we don't kill birds.

A boy and his daddy

There is something about a little boy and his dad. Chase loves his dad and thinks he is pretty cool.
1. He likes the silly tricks that daddy plays on him.
2. Chase loves to play ball with his dad.
3. He loves to visit his offices and take his treats.
4. He loves to wear his suit to church and look just like his dad.
5. He loves to kiss his check and try to mess up his hair.
6. But most of all, he loves his dad to comfort him when he is sad or scared.

Church

Sunday mornings can often be hectic. Each sacrament normally consists of me having to take Chase out atleast one to two times. He is at that age (where I think he should make it through a sacrament meeting) but has noticed people watch him. He loves that people laugh when he does silly things. He can often be found yelling out weird things, crawling under the benches, sticking pen rings on his fingers, and many other activities.

We made huge progress today. He finally made it through a sacrament without having to go out once. Almost five years old, not to bad right? He is so excited to get to go to ice cream tomorrow, as his reward for making it the whole hour.

In our ward conference our stake president spoke of neighbors, and judging others. I liked the quote he shared: Before being quick to judge we need to assume the individual is doing the best they know how.

Good thought.

Chase

When I was expecting my third child I thought it would be fun to have a little boy. I had seen my nephews and knew they were full of energy. Little did I know how different they really are from girls. I was not prepared for what I would face with a toddler boy. when chase was two he had gotten a new golf ball. On the way home late one evening he decided he was not happy with the ball and had asked us to take him to get another one. We explained he already had a ball and we were not going to get a new one. He rolled the window down and through the golf ball out, unfortunately we were on the freeway. Luckily, there were no cars around us.

I guess this was his easy solution to get rid of his ball...

Family Christmas Party

Every year before Christmas the Weston family gets together for a little party. The kids always look forward to being with their cousins and most of all opening their cousin gift. This year was no different- a house filled with very excited and noisy kids. I was in charge this year. We put together games but it is always so noisy. The kids are so excited they just can't settle down. It is a fun way to spend the Christmas Holiday.

It is tradition in our family that each year we get our pictures taken in front of the christmas tree. Here is our family picture this year. I am not sure if someone pinched Ally's butt or what is making her so giggly.
